I’ve been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1990, helping people of all ages and from all walks of life to do whatever they want with greater freedom and ease. I work with each person to explore and develop their understanding of how mind & body can function in harmony; at work, at rest and at play. The Technique helps us to stay calm in the face of the stresses of life, providing skills to reach our full potential. It helps breathing and makes you more relaxed even while working!
Alexander Technique lessons will enable you to develop a greater understanding of your own body. Through learning how to sit, stand, move and breathe effectively, I will teach you how to recognise and change the patterns and stresses caused by unhelpful habits that can lead to pain and tension. An initial consultation can last up to 75 minutes and will allow me to assess your specific needs. Subsequent lessons usually last an hour. You will generally see some changes in just a few sessions, although it may take longer in order to see lasting improvements. As a trained and active musician, I have particular expertise in working with performers of all kinds. However, people from all walks of life receive great and lasting benefit from my work.
