I’ve been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1990, helping people of all ages and from all walks of life to do whatever they want to do with greater freedom and less effort. I work with each person who comes to me to develop their understanding from practical body mechanics to emotional freedoms; at work, at rest and at play. The Technique is a practical tool for learning how to maximize your ability to maintain flexibility and freedom in body and mind. It helps you to stay calm in the face of the stresses of modern life, giving you skills to use your spine and limbs to their full potential. It helps breathing and makes you more relaxed even while working!
Alexander Technique lessons will enable you to develop a greater understanding of your own body. Through learning how to sit, stand, move and breathe effectively, I will teach you how to recognise and change the patterns and stresses caused by harmful habits that can lead to pain and tension. An initial consultation can last up to an hour and will allow me to assess your specific needs. You will generally see some changes in just a few sessions, although it may take longer in order to see lasting improvements. As a trained and active musician, I have particular expertise in working with clients in the music field. However, people from all walks of life receive great and lasting benefit from my work.
